You Came In That Thing?
Two things that will not surprise you, my favourite Goblins, in the slightest.
Number one, I am a Star Wars kid. Aren’t we all? It was our childhood. From the movies to the cartoons to the comics and the toys. It was all consuming.
Mom’s best white tablecloth became the wastes of Hoth as the bedroom floor was used to recreate scenes from the movies with our figures and Kenner AT-AT. Then we would spend the afternoon re-reading well thumbed Marvel Star Wars comics, immersed in the wider adventures of our heroes. Finally we would slip into our Star Wars pyjamas, close our Star Wars curtains and pull the Star Wars bedding over our heads to dream about a galaxy far, far away.
Secondly I am a bit of a geek. Or is it a nerd? I can never tell the difference. This is like Trekkie vs. Trekker all over again and I am not sure I can be bothered to work out the difference.
Anyway, I guess what I am saying is that I am perfectly happy to waste time looking over a DK Star Wars vehicles cutaways book or getting deep into the detail with the Haynes manual for the Millennium Falcon.
So when I stumbled across this cool thing on Facebook I just had to share it with you guys and gals.
Look At The Size Of That Thing!
Star Wars Always posted this in their Facebook feed. It’s a series of images showing Star Wars vehicles alongside recognisable real-world objects or locations to provide a sense of true scale. Excellent work from them.
That’s No Moon!
Stepping up to the truly gigantic now, we get to see how everyone’s favourite orbiting battle station and destroyer of worlds measures up.
Whoever took the time and effort to create these, we salute you!
Happy Easter Goblins! Tell us what you think of these below.
