Hey hey. I came across this teaser trailer for a film titled Assassination Nation, which I believe premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival this week. The films official synopsis reads :

This is a thousand percent a true story about how the quiet, all-American town of Salem, absolutely lost its mind.

That’s a hell of a hook on it’s own. And the teaser does indeed deliver the crazy.

Salem is, of course, where the infamous witch hunt took place back in the 1800s, but Assassination Nation is set in modern times, with a concept of: what if all of our text messages and photos and everything were released to the public for anyone to see?

Didn’t South Park do something like that last season ? But without further ado here’s the first teaser trailer for Sam Levinson’s Assassination Nation.

That is a pretty crazy trailer and being only 54 seconds long, It really doesn’t reveal a whole lot. Which is how teaser trailers should be. Just a taste.

The cast includes Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, Kelvin Harrison Jr., with Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, and Bella Thorne.

Abra, Odessa Young, Hari Nef and Suki Waterhouse in Assassination Nation by Sam Levinson

Assassination Nation is written and directed by Sam Levinson. Its only Levinson´s second feature film. His directorial debut came back in 2011 with the comedy/drama Another Happy Day. What say you readers? Is the teaser enough to get you to watch. It certainly has me wanting to see it.
