Do you wanna get a headache so you have an excuse to get out of work? Then the Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 trailer is for you.

Full-body cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi and her second-in-command Batou are former members of Public Security  Section 9, who are now hired mercenaries traveling hot devastated  American west coast. This land is full of opportunity for the major and her team, they utilize their enhanced cyberbrains and combat skills from their time working in Section 9. However, things get complicated with the emergence of “post humans,” who have extreme intelligence and physical powers. The members of Section 9 comeback together again in order to face this new threat.

The show is based on the popular Ghost In The Shell anime that centers around Public Security Section 9 as they solve and prevent various crimes. It takes place in a world in which people have “cyberbrains, technology that allows them to interface their biological brain with various networks”.

The show is animated with computers rather than being hand-drawn, which is somewhat unusual for anime. Anime is pretty big in my house and I can’t think of the last time I saw one where everything was rendered. It’s being produced by Netflix, so maybe they think it will help attract a bigger American audience.

Netflix has a surprisingly robust collection of anime to watch on its service and they, along with Amazon and Hulu, have been getting more and more into attracting subscribers with the genre.

In addition to this, Netflix also has produced Little Witch Academia and Castlevania. Hulu on the other hand is the only America streaming service where you can watch the still popular original version of Sailor Moon.

The last time an attempt was made to bring Ghost In The Shell to this country was the 2017 live-action box office bomb starring Scarlett Johansson.

Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 begins streaming worldwide in April.
