Look away now if you want to remain unspoiled.
Talking to TotalFilm in an interview about the upcoming Avengers team-up mega-movie, Brolin was describing the process of shooting Thanos as motion capture when this slipped out:
“I thought, ‘What the [frick] am I doing here?’ Because you’re in a onesie, man. You’ve got to walk around in a onesie and imagine yourself as an actor with some impact. It starts messing with your head. I’m Josh, who’s got dots on him, and a onesie, and a helmet can, and I’ve got Scarlett right there, and I’ve got Brie, and Don Cheadle, and Hemsworth, and Chris Evans, and Downey…I’m sitting there and I’m looking like I look, which is not 700lb and purple and eight feet tall. I mean, I’m feeling about as far from Jason Statham as one can feel at that moment, and yet I’m acting like I feel 10 times what Jason Statham is. I’m the man!”
Buried in there is the nugget. Brie Larson is supposed to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut next March as Captain Marvel. An origin story set in the 1990s.
However here we have the big bad villain of the piece confirming she was on set and acting with him.
No confirmation on whether the scene was from Avengers : Infinity War or the upcoming sequel due out May 3rd 2019. That would seem so work with the characters origin being handled in the standalone movie planned for March.
Will Avatar be looking nervously over it’s shoulder? Or will the estimated 35% box-office boost it banked from being at the front-end of the failed 3D revolution keep Cameron’s epic at the front of the pack? Find out in barely a week.
